As you may have noticed, I'm always on the lookout for cool new contests for small businesses. I just ran across a contest by the name of The Big Reboot, and I really like it.
The Big Reboot -- sponsored by Toshiba, Intel, and Staples -- is awarding $10,000 technology makeovers to American businesses, and free Intel-powered Ultrabook to the people who support them. What's particularly interesting about this contest is that it is a rolling contest, with several phases and opportunities to win. Contest winners for the first two phases (ending August 5th and August 26th) have already been named, and the third phase closes tomorrow. However, there are three phases yet to go:
- Small businesses delivering vital services — and satisfied customers.: October 26, 2012
- Small businesses that make the products we love, from cupcakes to cowboy boots and everything in between: November 11, 2012
- Mission-minded small businesses and non-profits serving the community and those in need: December 25, 2012
So -- if your small business needs a technology makeover (I know MINE does!), then tell your story for an opportunity to win. And if you’re a customer or fan of a particular business that you think needs a technology makeover, then nominate or vote for your favorite business and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a Toshiba Ultrabook laptop.
Pretty good deal all around if you ask me.
