FEDEX wants to give you $25k for your small business success story

It seems like not a week goes by that there isn't some contest out there specifically designed to attract the attention -- and participation -- of small business owners and entrepreneurs. Well, here's another one.

FedEx just announced its Small Business Grant contest with a $25,000 grand prize grant plus five $5,000 grants. Submitting an entry is pretty quick and easy -- simply click this link to submit your small business profile, then once your profile is approved, get the word out to all your customers, friends, family, and other supporters to vote for your business by following this link. According to FedEx, "winners will be chosen from the top 100 companies in the contest based on how compelling your story is and how many votes you can get for your business." To be eligible, your small business must employ fewer than 100 people.

The deadline to enter your business in this contest is November 17, 2012, and voting continues through November 24, 2012. In addition to the cash grants, I personally expect that FedEx will widely publicize the winners, which alone could turn out to be worth far more than the money.

Remember: There will be six winners, and your business could be one of them. As the old saying goes, you can't win if you don't play.
